Starting a Paladin from level one can feel a bit rough if you try to play it like a face-tank right away. The class gets much smoother once you lean into Judgment instead of chasing early legendary drops or worrying too much about perfect stats. You're marking enemies, backing off, then letting the holy damage do the dirty work a second later. That rhythm makes the build feel safe without being slow. Why Judgment feels so good early

Against bosses or chunky elites, the attack speed ramp-up makes it feel less like a filler skill and more like a real pressure tool. The ricochet is also easy to underrate. You don't have to aim at every single ghoul in the room. Just keep casting, reposition when needed, and the marks start bouncing around naturally.



Blessed Hammer does the heavy lifting
Once the marks are out, Blessed Hammer becomes the button you'll want under your fingers. It handles clustered enemies well, and it gives the build that proper Paladin feel: hammers spinning, mobs collapsing, loot dropping everywhere. Faster casting speed is worth paying attention to, even on messy leveling gear, because it keeps the whole loop from feeling stiff. Shattering Blow is the upgrade I'd grab as soon as it fits your setup. That first impact adds bite, and when it lines up with marked targets, the chain reaction can clear a pack before you've had time to think about another rotation.



Keeping pressure on without getting flattened
Holy Light rounds the build out because it gives you damage while you're moving and a beam for more focused moments. The passive aura chips away at nearby enemies, and the active cast feels better when Judgment is already sitting on them. Rite of Judgment is great if you like pushing into packs and letting your aura spread marks for you. If you're dying more than you'd like, Rite of Mercy is the safer pick thanks to Fortify. Some players also use U4GM when they want quick access to game currency or useful items, but the real strength of this Paladin setup is that it stays reliable through normal leveling, rough gear, and messy dungeon pulls.
